Press Review Framework

I have just read an article in Angelika Pehböck's blog "myblogpehboeck.blogspot.com" and it talks about St. Patrick's Day.

Basically what it says is that St. Patrick is very important to the Irish people. St. Patrick was the man who brought the catholic religion to them. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on march 17th.

What interested me most, is the fact that the rivers are dyed green and that everybody wears green clothes.

In my opinion it's a nice tradition, but most people celebrate St. Patrick's Day because it is a national bank holiday.
As for me I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

St. Patrick's Day

On march 17th the Irish people celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

St. Patrick's Day is the national holiday of Ireland.

St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He was not a born Irish. His real name was Maewyn Succat. He was the son of a Roman-British army officer.

First the colour of St. Patrick's Day was blue, but the national colour is green, so the colour changed.

On this day everybody wears green clothes, the beer is also coloured green and some rivers are dyed green. They make huge parades, listen to Irish music and drink a lot of Guinness or “green” beer.

The day is celebrated in Ireland, Canada, Great Britain, Austria, the United States, Uruguay and New Zealand.

One reason St. Patrick's Day might have become so popular is that it takes place just a few days before the first day of spring.

Dress codes

I think that school uniforms are unnecessary, because nobody wants to wear the same clothes as other pupils every day, every week and every month. I think every pupil should decide by himself, what toy wear and how much to spend on clothes. Another disadvantage is that some pupils maybe never wash their clothes. They maybe think that nobody notices, if they wear the same clothes every day.

On the picture you see a girl wearing a school uniform and in my opinion she looks very ridiculous.

But on the other hand school uniforms have a good side, because there isn’t any difference between the rich and the poor pupils.

So, this was something about dress codes and my opinion about it. I hope you enjoyed it.

The book:
It's a story about the poor boy Charlie Bucket and the rich man Willi Wonka. Willi Wonka is the owner of the chocalate factory and he is looking for a successor. So he invited 5 children in his factory. One of this children will become the successor of Willi Wonka.

The author:
The author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is Roald Dahl. He is born in 1916 and he died in 1990.

His most popular books include The Twits, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Witches and The BFG.

My community St. Thomas/Bl.

Let me present my community St. Thomas/Bl. to you.

St. Thomas/Bl. is a little municipality near perg. St. Thomas has about 1.000 inhabitants and the area of St. Thomas is about 30 km² and the elevation is 723 m.

The mayor of St. Thomas is Johannes Henning. He is a member of the People's Party. The municipalities next to St. Thomas are Pierbach, Mönchdorf, Pabneukirchen, Bad Kreuzen, Münzbach and Rechberg. In St. Thomas there is a big sports ground with a tennis ground, a football ground, an indoor curling hall and a club house.

Sights:
St. Thomas has many sights. For example:
  • Blasenstein
  • Bucklwehlucke
  • mummy
  • the church
  • Zigeunermauern
  • a big playground for young children
  • etc.
What I like about St. Thomas is the fantastic view, the fresh air, the fresh farmer products and that everybody knows everybody.
And I also like that St. Thomas isn't as large as a city.
In my municipality I miss a swimming pool and somer more shops
If I were a politician in my community I would decide to build an outdoor swimming pool, some shops and something where the young people can meet their friends in the evening.

So, this was something about my community St. Thomas/Bl. I hope you liked it.
